Common questions
I was summoned to testify. Do I need a lawyer?
It is advisable. The lawyer can access the case file before the testimony, advise on rights such as the right to remain silent, and attend the session.
Can the lawyer access the inquiry file?
Yes. The Brazilian Bar Statute and Binding Precedent (Súmula Vinculante) No. 14 of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) guarantee defense lawyers access to evidence that has already been documented.
Does the firm act for victims?
Yes, as assistant to the prosecution (assistente de acusação), following the case and contributing to the production of evidence.
